Teletherapy

We offer remote psychotherapy as an alternative to or backup option for in person sessions. Our therapists are able to meet online for individual, couples, family, and parenting sessions. Teletherapy offers a convenient, safe, and accessible way to participate in therapy from the comfort of your own home or office. We will help you to decide whether teletherapy is an appropriate choice based on your/your child’s presenting issues and circumstances.

Positive Developments uses HIPAA compliant, secure online platforms to ensure confidentiality. Our therapists are trained to provide the best possible treatment via teletherapy and have had great success with the online format. Sessions are typically 45 or 60 minutes in length, just as with in person sessions, and are billed at the same rate. While many insurance providers continue to cover video teletherapy, it is important that you reach out to your provider to clarify the limits of your out-of-network coverage.

In addition, some of our psychologists have a specific license for the “Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology” (APIT) in PSYPACT participating states. Click here to learn if your state of residency or current location qualifies: https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap. The APIT allows the therapist to legally and ethically conduct teletherapy across state lines. This supports the continuity of treatment when, for example, the client travels, relocates, or attends college in another state.
